PIETRAVENTOSA
Winemaker Pietraventosa is one of the boutique wine makers I have been following for several years and it is absolutely worth your time to try and taste their wines. Lot of creativity from their side and the results are evident. Try their Ossimoro, Murgia Rosso IGT, and their red Gioia del Colle Primitivo DOC, both the Riserva and Allegoria.
SANTA LUCIA
Located in Corato, run by Giuseppe and Roberto Perrono Capano. The
37 hectares vineyard relies
on indigenous grape varieties. Their best wine, Le More Riserva 2004,
is made from the Uva di Troja grapes & has been recognized as one
of the top ten in Italy.
POLVANERA
The winemakers develop local endemic grape varieties of Puglia, above all Primitivo DOC Gioia del Colle. Many of the vineyards date back to 1860s. All production is rigorously organic, and their most representative wines are Polvanera 16 and Polvanera 17, both Primitivo DOC Gioia del Colle.
