LA RASINA
Their Brunello di Montalcino 2001 Divasco was sold out even before it
reached the shelves, and Marco Mantengoli has received countless accolades
for this masterpiece.
Since 1997 the estate has been managed by Marco, a young winemaker with
clear ideas about the excellence of the wine he wants to produce. He
joined forces with enologist Paolo Caciorgna, and they successfully
married Marco's new ideas and modern technology with old traditions.
Besides the Brunello, La Rasina also produces a Rosso di Montalcino.
Other interesting and perhaps lesser known winemakers whose wines we
enjoy and recommend include La Verbena,
La Campana, Fuligni, Gianni Brunelli, La Mannella, and San
Filippo.
And then there are the names that do not need mentioning because their
well deserved fame: Salvioni,
Poggio di Sotto, and others.
